La Adrada

This is where our grandparents, Chato and Vicente, met when they were children. And a friendship was born that continued in the 1960s on the island of Corsica.

Our parents, Pedro and Raoul, continued to spend their summers in the same village. It was there that they met the women who would become their wives: the Nieves.

And more than twenty years later, history repeated itself.

In the summer of 2022, we met in that very same village. Without realizing it, we had just stepped into a story that our families had been writing for decades.

Île de Beauté

It’s impossible to tell our story without mentioning Corsica, “the Isle of Beauty.”

In the late 1950s, Sonia’s grandfather, Vicente, left behind his beloved village of La Adrada and went to France in search of work. A year later, he called his friend Chato to tell him to come with him.

Vicente and Chato, along with our grandmothers Clemen and Carmen, forged a lifelong friendship on that island. And a few years later, in the city of Bastia, our parents—Pedro and Raoul—were born.

What these two families didn’t know was what the future held for them...

Plaza de la Villa

After a whole lifetime without ever having crossed paths, fate brought us to the same place at the same time: the 2022 Salvador Festival in La Adrada’s Plaza de la Villa.

Sara, Sonia’s cousin, introduced us without knowing that history was about to repeat itself. Years earlier, her mother, Maica, had introduced Sonia’s parents, Pedro and Nieves, in that very same town.

Sara told Sonia that Marco had some connection to Corsica, and Sonia’s curiosity was piqued…

Sometimes, fate has tricks up its sleeve that we don’t see coming.

Piedralaves

That summer we ended up at the Piedralaves festival: Sonia’s group of cousins and Marco’s friends.

It was there that we really started talking. Sonia, still curious after what Sara had told her, brought up the topic of Corsica.

And then came the surprise: our parents had been born in the same city, Bastia, Corsica.

Marco, laughing, even pulled out his Corsican necklace. It was starting to seem like too much of a coincidence.

The next day we asked our families.

And that’s when we discovered that our story had begun much earlier than we’d thought.

The 2nd and the 7th

Sometimes coincidences go too far to still be called coincidences.

Sonia: "What's that tattoo you have on your arm?"

Marco: “The number 7. My lucky number, written in Arabic.”

Sonia: “What a coincidence. That’s my birthday.”

When’s yours?

Marco: “September 2.”

Then Sonia rolled up her sleeve and showed the number 2 tattooed on her arm.

We’d had each other’s birthdays tattooed long before we met.

Nuñez de Balboa

After our first date, we walked back together to the subway station where Sonia got off every day on her way to work.

Everything had been so easy—the conversation, the laughter, the way we were together...

And then Sonia remembered something her friend Belén had told her a while back:

“Love is easy.”

And there, on the escalators at Núñez de Balboa, we shared our first kiss.

From that moment on, we both knew that our story had just begun.

Mean Fructosa

The first time Marco cooked for Sonia, he made a recipe from his sister: beet salad. What he didn't know yet was that beets and fructose weren't exactly Sonia's best friends.

After that afternoon together, it was time to say goodbye. Sonia got in the car, started the engine, and Taylor Swift’s “Mean”—one of her favorite songs—began to play.

And suddenly Marco started singing along—at the top of his lungs, right out on the street, without a shred of embarrassment.

That night we also discovered that together we were going to laugh a lot.

Walking Disaster

Our first concert together happened shortly after we met; we went with our friend Ira to see Simple Plan and Sum 41.

That night, “Walking Disaster” became one of our songs. In a way, it perfectly described Sonia’s arrival in Marco’s perfectly organized life.

On our first Valentine’s Day, Sonia gave Marco an illustration by our friend Uxue that featured the two of us, along with a phrase that already summed us up: “My walking disaster.”

And two years later, we saw Sum 41 live again. When that song came on, we were transported back to that first night.

Harry Potter

During their first few months together, Sonia already had her own drawer at Marco's place.

One day, Marco realized that Sonia had fallen in love with the Women'secret Harry Potter collection. So he decided to do something about it.

When she opened the trunk of the car, Sonia found a complete set from the collection: pajamas, socks, slippers, and a jacket.

Everything was set up so she could leave it at Marco’s place and wear it every time she visited.

Maybe we didn’t realize it yet, but with all those little things, Sonia was starting to take up more and more space in Marco’s life.

Ámsterdam

After a few months together, we decided to take our first trip to a place neither of us had ever been before: Amsterdam.

Christmas was just around the corner, and the streets were starting to fill with lights. On a day when it wouldn’t stop raining, we decided to take shelter in a small, candlelit fondue restaurant.

While outside the rain cast a golden glow over the streets and the canals reflected the lights, we indulged in cheese, wine, and lots of love.

And it was precisely in this magical city that we said “I love you” to each other for the first time.

I'll be there for you

If you know Sonia, you know that her birthdays are a very serious matter.

The first one we celebrated together was at her parents’ house, and it had a very special theme: Friends.

It all started one day when Sonia was feeling down and Marco put on an episode to cheer her up. That afternoon, we discovered that we were both big fans of the show, so when her birthday rolled around, the choice was clear.

Marco didn’t just help with the decorations and the food. He also showed up dressed in a huge pink bunny costume, paying homage to Chandler Bing.

And that day, Sonia realized she’d found her “lobster.”

Julián Camarillo

After nine months, we moved in together.

And, once again, fate was on our side. We fell in love with the first apartment we saw, and luckily, the landlord fell in love with us, too.

This is still our home—the place where we’ve spent our first Christmases, had our first dinners with our families, and celebrated our first birthdays.

Marco’s minimalist style and Sonia’s colorful touch eventually found their own balance, and little by little, this apartment became a reflection of both of us.

A little love nest where, as soon as you walk in, it always smells like candles and vinyl music is playing.

Swifties Forever

Sonia's love for Taylor Swift took us all the way to Edinburgh.

There, along with her friends, she saw her favorite blonde singer for the second time. And after that weekend, Marco arrived in Scotland to continue the trip together.

It was also time to meet the “English” uncles, who, just like the Swifties, took a liking to Marco right away.

In the Scottish Highlands, we discovered something we didn’t know we’d enjoy so much: road-tripping together and exploring landscapes that looked like something out of a fairy tale.

Los Torino

Before they’d even been together a year, Marco already knew this was going to be a long-term thing. That’s why he invited Sonia to their first wedding together: Jorge and María’s wedding in Jaén.

Little did they know at the time, but that wedding would end up setting off a chain reaction of others. Last year, Marco and María were the next to take the plunge, and now it’s our turn to be the third couple.

Marco’s friends are called the Torinos, after the soccer team they’ve been part of since they were young. And little by little, the Torinas started to join the group.

We’re excited to think that in a few years, we’ll have mini Torinos to make the team truly complete.

Malasia

In 2025, we had the opportunity to travel together to Asia for the first time: Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, and Langkawi.

Marco found a watch in Singapore that he loved. And according to tradition, a man is given a watch when he proposes...

We looked at each other. We both knew that moment would come someday. So Sonia bought it for him.

Months later, in Corsica, Marco got down on one knee and proposed to her.

And today, on our wedding day, Marco is wearing that watch for the first time.

Cap Corse

In the summer of 2025, we took a road trip through northern Corsica, Cap Corse.

One day, Marco decided to pull over at a hidden cliff to take in some incredible views. We walked past a rock that looked like a doorway and discovered a completely secluded spot right by the sea.

Sonia was a little nervous because she had a hunch… then she turned around.

And there was Marco, down on one knee, with a question in his eyes and a beautiful ring set with diamonds and pink tourmaline in his hands.

That’s when the best year of our lives began—as we planned this very special day.

El Cabildo

At this point, you already know how important La Adrada is to us.

There’s a very special spot on the hill above the village, called El Cabildo, whose history—just like ours—spans generations and has that magical touch that makes you believe in destiny.

There was no doubt that this had to be the place for us to say “I do” and build a relationship as beautiful and lasting as the one our role models did:

Carmen and Vicente

Clemen and Chato

Consu and Ángel

Julia and Emilio

Nieves and Pedro

Nieves and Raoul
